A pattern from Cairo

This time it’s the November 2022 pattern from Samira Mian’s archive. A seemingly simple looking finished product, it doesn’t look intricate, but quite tricky to do. It’s also unusual for incorporating 6-fold and 8-fold patterns ( which I would never have noticed!). It does look interesting, as though it’s curved.

I started with circles of 6.5cm radius and worked on A4 paper. I got out of whack in places, this pattern isn’t tremndously forgiving of mistakes. I then traced and tiled onto A3 paper.

I fancy giving it a go on a smaller scale.
